10k & 15k EVENTS SEPT 4th 2016 BOOK NOW!

The X Border Challenge has now added a 15k to the event day that will take place on September 4th, 2016.

If you are taking part in the X Border 10k or the 15k it is an ideal training run for the Great Cumbrian Run that takes place in early October.

This event is one of a select few cross border runs anywhere in the world – it promises to be a fantastic event that’s suitable for both the experienced and the first time 10k or 15k runner!

All finishers receive a medal, food at the finish line, a goody bag and of course a fantastic welcome from supporters and spectators.

  • How long has the event been running?

    Open or Close
    The event is now in its fifth year. But this will be the first time it's featured a 15k option.
    The X Border 10k was created by Mike James of Endurance Sports. Mike is also responsible for the resurgence in popularity of the Great Cumbrian Run which he organised between 2000 and 2008.
    Endurance Sports are also the organisers of the Gelt Gladiator, another fantastic local event that is becoming increasingly popular.
  • How many runners will there be?

    Open or Close
    Last years 10k event hosted 400 runners, ranging from semi-pros to fun runners. It's a great course and everybody is welcome.
    10k and 15k runners will be given different coloured numbers so that race marshals can easily direct you to the route/distance you have signed up for.
  • When and where does it start?

    Open or Close
    Runners should make their way to Kigmoor Park to pick up their race number and to register from 8.30 - 9.15. Shuttle busses will then take you to the start in good time for the start. Both events will start at 10am from Greens of Gretna hotel.
  • What will be this years routes?

    Open or Close
    The two events will start at the same time and follow the same route, until the latter section of the course where 15k runners will be diverted towards Rockcliffe, and around Crindledyke before entering Kingmoor Park to the combined finishing area.
  • How much is entry?

    Open or Close
    The 10k event is priced at £15 and £13 for affiliated runners.
    The 15k event is priced at £17 and £15 for affiliated runners.
